David Bowie set for fastest-selling album of 2013 and a No.1 position

Iconic singer David Bowie is heading for No.1 with his brand new album, 'The Next Day', and it is also on course to be the fastest-selling record of 2013.

The Official Charts Company explained that not only did the new offering peak at the top spot during today's midweek update (March 13), it has also sold an impressive 66,000 copies since its release two days ago, which is just behind Biffy Clyro's record-setting first week sales figure of 71,600 with 'Opposites'.

Bon Jovi's new album, 'What About Now', has debuted at No.2, Hurts' 'Exile' has made an appearance today at 6, and Emeli Sande's 'Our Version Of Events' remains in the Top 10 at No.3.

Paloma Faith's 'Fall To Grace' has dropped 10 positions to No.26, The Lumineers' self-titled record has climbed 3 spots to No.29, and One Direction's 'Up All Night' has risen 4 places to 36.
