Glastonbury Festival boss hints at David Bowie appearance

Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis has teased the possibility of David Bowie performing at their next festival.

The notoriously reclusive star reared his head again earlier this year with the surprise release of new album 'The Next Day', but no touring plans have been announced.

Speaking to the Central Somerset Gazette, however, festival boss Eavis said that he believes Bowie could be tempted to return to the event after playing there in 1971 and 2000. He said:

"The younger ones sort out most of the music, but I like to book the headline names."

Eavis added: "I can't tell you at the moment who that will be as we're still talking to people. David [Bowie] has done it a couple of times before but I'm sure he could come back again."

This year's Glastonbury meanwhile saw The Rolling Stones make their debut at the event with a headline set.
