Ben Francis Leftwich & Marques Toliver launch the Spotify Live UK series

Benjamin Francis Leftwich to kick off Spotify Live with support from Marques Toliver in association with Guardian and Rockfeedback.

The first of the Spotify Live UK series will be staged at a venue widely acknowledged to be one of the best spaces for the London new music scene: The Lexington in Islington.

The first event takes place on Friday the 11th November, with a performance from critically acclaimed British singer-songwriter Benjamin Francis Leftwich. This is an exciting opportunity to catch this rising star in an intimate setting ahead of his Shepherd’s Bush Empire headline show on February 22nd 2012.

The series will open with an appearance from a hot-tip for 2012, US violin-playing soul singer Marques Toliver.

Partnering with Rockfeedback Concerts and presented in association with the Guardian, each of the 4 nights of the London series will feature a two-act format, with special guest DJs between the acts.

The events are free to attend and entry will be via a first come first served basis on the evening of the event, with the first entry at 7.30pm. However, the Guardian and Spotify have a limited number of guaranteed entry guest list places available.

For a chance to secure two places on the guest list to see Benjamin Francis Leftwich on the 11th November at the Lexington, Spotify Premium account holders over 18 years old wishing to attend on the night can email: spotifylive@rockfeedback.com quoting their Spotify username.

In addition to this, both the Guardian and Rockfeedback will be offering a limited number of guaranteed entry guest list places. To be in with a chance of winning entry for you and a friend, simply visit http://www.guardian.co.uk/music and http://www.rockfeedback.com.

Benjamin Francis Leftwich says of the event: “I'm very happy to be kicking off the first UK Spotify Live event. Spotify really gets behind musicians and helps get great music out to people. I’m so grateful for the support they have given me and the live event series promises to be very exciting for everyone.”

For those who aren’t lucky enough to make the live event, or those wishing to relive the evening, a series of beautifully shot video pieces documenting the events will be released at http://www.guardian.co.uk/music 2-3 days after each event. Spotify users will be able to enjoy high quality audio recordings from the night by visiting the Spotify Live profile – simply search Spotify Live on Spotify as well as Spotify playlists selected by featured artists.

New playlists will be added to the Spotify Live Profile over the course of the series.

Three further Spotify Live series events will be taking place in November and December and will be announced in the coming weeks.
