First Noisettes live dates announced for new album 'Contact'

12th November - 15th November 2012

London’s most unconventional and unforgettable duo, Noisettes aka Dan Smith and Shingai Shoniwa make contact as they announce details of their 2012 UK regional tour.

With a career that has stretched over seven incredible years, their fizzy, witty mixture of all kinds of pop, given their own exotic twist, has brought them well known chart smashes like ‘Never Forget You’ and ‘Don’t Upset the Rhythm’, while their unique command of the stage has made them festival icons from Glastonbury to V Festival. Two years on, Noisettes make their magnificent return and boy have we missed them.

Renowned for their enthralling live performances and style, their energy is reminiscent of the true, legendary artists of the past, leading to them being described “the best live band in Britain” by The Guardian last year. Shoniwa can often be seen charging in to the audience playing guitar and singing clinging to a ladder suspended from the ceiling, a nod to the circus skills she learnt in her teens. “We always go that extra mile to give the crowd a night they’ll never forget,” she says.

Itching to get back on the road and take their new album ‘Contact’ to their fans, they will be returning to some of their favorite spots throughout the country, playing four dates from 12th November - 15th November.  Shingai says “We’re really excited because we’ve done so many huge shows in the last year and played to huge numbers of fans - what we really wanted to do was to go back to some of the more intimate venues that we love, that we played at the beginning of our career.  Favourite venues where people can see you from head to toe and see all the cables sticking out of the amps. Where people can really hear all of the dynamics.”

Having been friends for over a decade after meeting at the BRIT school, their friendship, love for performing, and diverse musical influences is what keeps them so refreshingly unique, and musically pioneering.  Dan says “Me and Shingai are a great double act in the studio whether we are writing on our own or with other people. The trousers (metaphorically of course) are on a rota. Sometimes I wear them and sometimes she does and occasionally we get a leg each but mostly each of us knows when we are supposed to lead or follow and it could be at any time that we need to switch roles.”

2012 has been a monumental year for the band. Having already performed at The Diamond Jubilee Festival in Battersea Park in June, the band were also part of BT River of Music, a curtain-raiser for the Olympic Games, headlined Blissfields Festival and performed at BT London Live in Hyde Park earlier this month. One thing’s for sure, fans and critics around the world have been waiting in excitement and anticipation for their return - the wait is over!

The Noisettes new album 'Contact' is out on August 27th, and lead single 'That Girl' is out now.
