An evening with Suggs and Friends... for Pancreatic Cancer UK

Hosted by The Gig Company, the evening held at The Porchester Hall,  included performances from Suggs himself with comedian Phill Jupitus MC’ing. Special performances also included; Jools Holland, Wilko Johnson, who was sadly diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January this year and has chosen to not receive any chemotherapy, and Bo Bruce, who tragically lost her mother last year to the illness.
As well as dinner and live performances, the night also included  a money can't buy auction and raffle which included a Epiphone G-400 guitar generously donated by Gibson guitar that sold for £1,400. A Paul Slater oil on canvas painting ‘The apaches have killed my bowler’ also sold for £3,500. 

Other auction prizes included: a VIP weekend at Rockness Festival; a cookery lesson with Nicky Bilington, Jojo’s reataurant and a weekend at Crab and Wrinkle cottage; a day at the races with Madness, Sandown; tickets to see ‘Suggs, My Life Story’ with a meet and greet’; VIP Bestival tickets with Premium camping and VIP V-Festival tickets.

Pancreatic cancer amounts to 5% of cancer deaths in the UK, but receives only 1% of research funding. Pancreatic Cancer UK established a research Innovation fund, to fund research that will have the most impact on the disease, especially in the area of diagnoses of pancreatic cancer.
