Beady Eye & Sitek studio footage
announce three intimate UK live shows + 'BE' available now for pre-order
Beady Eye announce the release of their highly-anticipated sophomore album, entitled 'BE' - out June 10th on Columbia Records. One of most hotly-awaited albums of the year, ‘BE’ represents a true evolution in the band’s sound and writing techniques. Recorded in London with cult producer Dave Sitek (TV on the Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Liam Gallagher, Andy Bell and Gem Archer experimented with Protools, cassette tapes, samplers, recorded conversation, iPhone apps and unusual instrumentation to create this ambitious and exhilarating set of tracks showcasing a stunning depth of songwriting. The record is a bold statement of intent from a band who sound as hungry as ever to achieve greatness. ‘‘Working with Sitek just opened something up in us. He’s without a doubt the best producer i’ve ever worked with, a real outlaw - he doesn’t give a fuck, no rules. We had a new found focus when we were writing it - we really got our heads down and got our shit together - clear heads, none of that crap from the 90s. It feels like a really special record for us.” said Liam. “It’s a trippy record! The strength of the tracks is so high that we got to really play around! It’s rock-band instrumentation, but used in a different way. Liam’s vocals are incredible, all you have to do is turn on a microphone and you’re like, ‘that sounds like a record!’ You don’t have to do anything to them” said Dave Sitek. To celebrate the release of their brand new album, 'BE', Beady Eye have announced a series of three very special intimate fan-only UK live shows. The band will kick off proceedings at the Manchester Ritz on June 19th before heading to London to perform at the Camden Centre on June 20th. They will finish the run of shows in Glasgow at the ABC on June 22nd. New track, ‘Flick of the Finger', was unveiled on Zane Lowe's show recently, and the video is made up of slow motion footage of a shark attack - collated by cult producer Dave Sitek (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV on the Radio), who produced 'BE' - check it out below. The first single proper to be taken from 'BE' is 'Second Bite of the Apple', and the video was debuted on VEVO last week (see below). The artwork for 'BE' was shot by Harri Peccinotti, famous for the Pirelli calendars in the '70s, and the lady in the artwork is his wife. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Peccinotti One of the most anticipated albums of the year, 'BE' is set to be released on June 10th through Columbia Records.
