Expect solid production and a host of incredible guest vocalists and producers on here. Elements of electronica, electropop, synthpop and hiphop... After spending many years working behind the scenes as a songwriter for a number of artists, the last 12 months saw the first solo music released by Jonny with a series of Independently released tracks and remixes. Experimenting with a diverse group of UK musicians, including Sharlene Hector (Armand Van Helden, Bassment Jaxx), Soulful J Appiah (Jess Glynn), Folk Singer-songwriter Emma Ballantine, Jazz Trumpeter Freddie Gavita & DJ Amy Lauren, Jonny recorded songs and sounds rooted in his love of electronic music alongside engineer Hugh Fothergill (Volleyball) to create a compilation/Mix-tape that draws on the community approach to his music. Community will include new songs including Break Me, featuring J Appiah, a low-fi electronic ballad, which drew the praise from his production-heroes The Nextmen and Hole In My Heart, which hit #1 on Beatport Deep-house chart in Summer 2021. Jonny’s music has been featured on Spotify/Apple playlists & TV Sync’s around the world as well as being played on BBC Radio 2, 6, Introducing and Select Radio. His 2017 composition, Alive (Guy Scheiman / Ayia Gold) hit Top 20 US Dance Chart. In addition to his published music (Wipe-Out) Jonny is notably the main songwriter & producer for UK Ska/Reggae band, The Kubricks, which has resulted in 2 acclaimed albums, top festival support slots (Boomtown Festival and UB40) & a #1 album on I-Tunes album chart (The Heist, released 2017). AboutJonny grew up in Norfolk before moving to London at 18 to study Music Composition & Technology. After Graduating, Jonny played in a couple of cover and original bands, before forming The Kubrick’s, with some good friends. Following years of writing songs, making demo’s, playing gigs around the UK, The Kubrick’s began to gain popularity on the Ska/2-Tone circuit, often selling out famous venues as The Dublin Castle, following the footsteps of their Ska heroes Madness & The Specials. In 2013, The Kubrick’s released their first EP ‘Wasters & Wannabes’ and this was followed up with 2017’s debut album ‘The Heist’ which resulted strong radio play on BBC Radio, top festival support slots (Boomtown Festival, UB40) and a #1 album on I-Tunes album chart. In 2020, Jonny signed a publishing deal with Wipe-Out music to represent The Kubricks songs. Outside of band, Jonny has collaborated with many artists, working behind the scenes as a songwriter which led him to work on his first solo music in 2020 with a number of independently released tracks and remixes.
