Cardiff-born, Welsh-speaking singer-songwriter Lily Beau is thrilled to announce the release of her debut EP, Little Old Me, a soulful and introspective collection of songs that delve into themes of unrequited love, quarter-life crises, and inner healing. The EP represents a significant milestone for the Irish-Jamaican artist, who has spent years crafting and refining her voice within her bedroom walls, now ready to share it with the world.

Growing up in a home filled with vinyl Jazz records and a love for movies, Lily began writing songs at just 12 years old, weaving tales of childhood dreams and her infatuation with Daniel Radcliffe. Her passion for music continued to blossom, leading her to London at 16 to attend East London Arts and Music, where she nurtured her talent while also embarking on a five-year career in A&R.

While building her career behind the scenes, Lily never let go of her own musical aspirations. Over the years, she continued writing and performing, releasing Welsh-language music and playing at iconic venues such as the Troubadour, Spice of Life, Proud Camden, Royal Festival Hall, Wales Millennium Centre, and Cardiff City Stadium. She has also had the privilege of supporting artists like Jack Savoretti, Joel Culpepper, and Mace the Great.

In 2023, Lily teamed up with producer Nate Williams to bring her bedroom-written songs to life, culminating in, Little Old Me. The EP blends pop, folk, and singer-songwriter influences, showcasing Lily’s musical range and personal growth. The project’s lead singles, ‘Too Close’ and ‘Little Old Me’, have already been met with acclaim, landing on BBC Radio Wales’ prestigious Welsh A-List and featured on BBC Introducing.

Lily describes the EP as a deeply personal reflection of her experiences: “These songs have been my therapy, written over the years as I navigated love, anxiety, and the process of growing up. From writing about childhood crushes to dealing with the realities of adulthood, every note and lyric is a piece of me.”

Lily’s career highlights include performing with Tony Visconti's 'Unsigned Heroes' for Sky Arts, alongside music legends Bob Geldof, Imelda May, and Stewart Copeland at Union Chapel. In 2022, she proudly represented Wales by performing at the Nobel Peace Centre and previously composed the theme for the Welsh Government’s post-pandemic reopening, which she performed for the Queen. Beyond music, Lily is also an accomplished actor, having starred in the 2022 Welsh Bafta-winning film ‘Y Sŵn’ and led the 2021 Bafta-nominated TV show ‘Y Goleudy’.

Little Old Me, is a testament to Lily Beau’s journey as an artist, blending vulnerability and strength, and marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for this multifaceted talent. “I can’t wait for the world to hear these songs and for my music to finally exist beyond my bedroom walls,” she shares.
