Emerging singer-songwriter Suki Summer is thrilled to announce the release of her latest single, ‘Nothing At All’. Drawing inspiration from the gritty rock sound of the 70s and the vibrant synths of the 80s, this track combines nostalgic influences with a fresh, unapologetic perspective on modern relationships.

With echoes of Blondie and a powerful, guitar-driven sound, ‘Nothing At All’ captures a playful and confident attitude towards casual relationships, breaking down stigmas around women’s sexuality. The song is a bold anthem of empowerment, delivering a message that women can enjoy their sexual freedom without apology or expectations.

“This song is about having fun in a casual relationship, without guilt or apology,” Suki shares. “There’s still so much stigma around women’s attitudes toward sex, and I wanted to write something that says, ‘I can do what I want with my body, and I don’t owe you anything more. If you don’t like that, too bad—I’m not going to apologize.’ After all, why should men have all the fun?”

The song blends catchy 70s-style guitar riffs with an 80s-inspired synthesized sound, delivering a unique combination of grit and nostalgia. Vocally, Suki’s strong, dry delivery is enhanced by layers of harmony and double-tracked lines, creating a full, captivating presence.

‘Nothing At All’ was written in February 2023, with the lyrics and melody coming together in just one sitting. The song’s bridge was written on the spot in the studio and recorded in one take. Produced by Umberto Conca and recorded at The Premises Studios in London, Suki captured the entire track in an 8-hour session, working with mixing engineer Neil Goody and mastering engineer Matt Colton to bring the song to life.

On the release, Suki Summer shares, “I never want to be made to feel like I owe someone more than I’m willing to give just because they’ve decided that’s what they want from me. Sometimes you wear a top once and think that was fun at the time but I don’t think I want to wear it again”.
