Don't Miss Tigran Hamasyan's Only U.S. Concert

Although trained as a classical and jazz musician, Tigran Hamasyan draws on a wide range of influences including Armenian folk music, rock and more. In the past decade, with the release of four critically acclaimed albums and an unceasing touring schedule, Tigran has built up a dedicated international following, as well as accolades from the likes of Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock and Brad Mehldau.

His new undertaking is a fresh and appealingly youthful representation of Armenian sacred music from the 5th to 19th centuries, as interpreted from his unique and modern perspective. The repertoire ranges from enthralling hymns and sharakans to breathtaking chants arranged for piano and voices by the pianist himself. Tigran and 8 members of the Yerevan State Chamber Choir embark on an extensive tour, performing this sacred music in 100 European churches.

With members of the Yerevan Chamber Choir direct from Armenia, his upcoming concert at UCLA Royce Hall will be his only performance in the U.S. – and DoLA has a chance for you to win tickets.
