Dr Dre on violence towards women: 'I've made some horrible mistakes'

Music mogul Dr Dre has opened up about an incident that took place in 1991 where he assaulted journalist Denise 'Dee' Barnes and other recent claims of repeated abuse in the 90s from his one-time girlfriend, Michel’le.

Speaking to the Rolling Stone about his history of violence in a new revealing and personal interview, Dre explained that he feels deep shame and regret:

"I made some f**king horrible mistakes in my life... I was young, f**king stupid. I would say all the allegations aren't true - some of them are. Those are some of the things that I would like to take back. It was really f**ked up. But I paid for those mistakes, and there's no way in hell that I will ever make another mistake like that again."

Dre's new 'Compton' soundtrack shot into the UK Top 40 singles chart at No.1 during Monday's (August 10) Official Chart Update and is currently outselling the rest of the Top 5 combined. Final positions will be confirmed this coming Friday, August 14.
