Dr. Dre is "definitely in the final stretch" of working on his continuously delayed album, 'Detox', according to producer DJ Khalil.

Khalil has been working alongside the 'I Need A Doctor' star on the record for the past six years and told Billboard.com that he's close to completion:

"Dre's album is definitely the most important thing right now, because he is definitely in the final stretch. He has the record going, but I'm sure he thinks there are pieces missing still. Until he finds those pieces, maybe he's not comfortable putting it out yet."

Dre's third album has been in the making for a long time and Khalil explained its sound to fans who are eagerly anticipating the long-awaited unveiling:

"It's definitely a West Coast sound, more futuristic West Coast sound, at least from what I've turned in," he says. "I don't know what he's keeping, though."
