Duran Duran to receive Lifetime Achievement award

Iconic band Duran Duran will receive a prestigious lifetime achievement award at the upcoming 2015 O2 Silver Clef Awards. 

The 'Rio' hitmakers are set to be awarded the coveted prize at the ceremony in London on July 3, which takes place annually in aid of music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins.

Speaking about the honour in a statement the group said that it means a lot to them: 

"As musicians, it means a lot to us to be recognised by a charity which does such great work using music to help people."

The Silver Clef Awards will be held at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane and Duran Duran are set to be honoured for their 37-year music career, which has included 14 singles in the Top 10 UK Singles Chart, 21 in the Billboard Hot 100 and more than 120 million records sold worldwide.
