Duran Duran: 'One Direction are under such intense pressure'

Iconic band Duran Duran, who recently unveiled their new album 'Paper Gods', have revealed that One Direction's decision to take time off didn't surprise them at all.

Member Simon Le Bon told People magazine that a career break was "predictable": "I'm not surprised in the slightest. That is so normal. That was so predictable. It's the fact they work every b****y day. The pressure on them is so great, something had to break. I think it's a good decision. Good luck to them all, they've worked so hard."

He also recently told Britain's Daily Star newspaper that he sees a lot of his own band in One Direction and the journey they're on: "I see a lot of us in One Direction. Duran were one of the first bands where everybody knew each member since The Beatles. Then you have the 1D member who is smoking dope in the back of a car, one member who leaves to live a so-called 'normal life'. It's a rerun of things that we did."

Duran Duran, meanwhile, will tour the UK this winter in support of their new album and the first date is due to take place on November 27 in Manchester. Check out the band's full tour listing below:
