Elton John boycotts Dolce & Gabbana over views on same-sex parenting and IVF

Elton John has fiercely spoken out against Italian designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana after the pair stated in a recent interview that children should not be raised by same-sex parents.

The pair told Panorama magazine that procreation should be “an act of love” and labelled the offspring of artificial insemination or egg donors “children of chemistry” and “synthetic children”.

Elton John took to his official Instagram account just hours ago to criticise the fashion duo's views.

Beneath an image of the designers, Elton wrote:

“How dare you refer to my beautiful children as 'synthetic'. And shame on you for wagging your judgemental little fingers at IVF - a miracle that has allowed legions of loving people, both straight and gay, to fulfil their dream of having children. Your archaic thinking is out of step with the times, just like your fashions.”

Elton signed off his comment by vowing: “I shall never wear Dolce and Gabbana ever again. #BoycottDolceGabbana”

Elton John and his husband David Furnish have two young sons, Zachery and Elijah Joseph, who were both born by the same surrogate mother.
