Sir Elton John lauds new Queens of the Stone Age album

Sir Elton John has praised Queens of the Stone Age's latest record.

The veteran musician performed piano on the track 'Fairweather Friends', which is the seventh song on '...Like Clockwork'.

As quoted by the Press Association, John said that he believes that the US group's new album is one of the best rock albums in recent times. He said:

"I've never really played on a record with a rock band like that and for me it was one of the most exciting things I've ever done. I think it's probably the best rock album by any band in about five or six years."

Speaking about the session, Queens of the Stone Age singer Josh Homme said:

"We played for three-and-a-half hours. That’s how long it took to get it. Then he stayed for another three-and-a-half hours and he just talked and hung out and bullsh**ted and stuff like that."

'...Like Clockwork' was released in the UK on June 3 and it is currently in the race for the No.1 in the albums chart.

John meanwhile also recently appeared on pop-rock group Fall Out Boy's latest album 'Save Rock and Roll'.
