Eminem: 'My new album took so long to release because I was lazy'

Rap heavyweight Eminem has admitted that the only reason his new album, entitled 'The Marshall Mathers LP 2', took so long to see the light of day is because he was lazy when working on it.

During an interview with NRJ radio, he explained that he took on several projects at the same time he was in the studio recording songs for the full-length offering so often found himself working more on everything but his own album:

"I did the 'Recovery' album then I started working on some side projects for Shady Records, the label. I did some producing on a Yellow Wolf album and the Slaughterhouse album I did a collaboration album with Royce tha '59 called 'Bad Meets Evil'. In the middle of all that I was recording for this album."

"It's basically because I'm lazy that it took so long. Now that the album is done, I'm finally going to shower."

As soon as 'The Marshall Mathers LP 2' was released in the UK, it shot straight to No.1 on the Top 40 chart and gave him his seventh consecutive No.1 album in the country.
