In their latest romantic single, “Why the Hell Knot?”, out June 12, 2020, contemporary country duo Poppyiris sing about passionate lovers who make the decision to “tie the knot.
Forming in 2016 and named after their state flowers respectively (California and Tennessee), award winning musicians Deedee O’Malley and Mike Lusk, the duo behind Poppyiris, have combined classic R&B, country, and folk to create their distinctive sound. Combined, the duo have a musical resume stretching a mile long, having worked with legendary artists including Willie Nelson, Kenny Rogers, Martina McBride, LeAnn Rimes, Chris Cagel, and Stephen Bishop to name a few.

Poppyiris is an American romantic country music duet formed in Nashville Tennessee in 2016. The duet is composed of Los Angeles Music Award’s singer/songwriter of the year Deedee O’Malley (lead, background vocals and guitar) and Mike Lusk Tasmanian Independent Country Music Awards International Artist Of The Year with a stack of number one hits (lead, background vocals and bass) Poppyiris made its debut in 2016 at The legendary Country General Store in Los Angeles, California to a standing room only crowd. The duet has released several singles since their inception. Why the Hell Knot, Love Just Knows, In Your Arms, With a Dance, Crushing on You, Ain’t No Secret, Never out of Style and Because of You just to name a few. If you combine the list of people Mike Lusk and Deedee O’Malley have shared the stage with, it is a list of the who’s who of American Music.
