(New York, NY - June 16, 2020) Liberian-born fashion designer and musician TAKI delivers another track that speaks to women of his past. TAKI’s (artist name Girl God) new single, “Whole Thing”, out June 12, 2020, features poetic lyrics and powerful piano playing describing his love and war affair with the ocean. This is the second release from his debut self-produced album, Girl God out July 24, 2020.

Growing up during one of the most violent periods of his country, the Liberian Civil War, TAKI witnessed the ocean being used as a burial ground. “Whole Thing” transforms the waves of war that he once feared into harmonic rhythms of love and peace. The cover art of TAKI’s parents on their wedding day symbolizes a covenant we all have with our Whole Thing.
