Enrique Iglesias has offered an explanation for the confusion surrounding his recently announced tour dates with Britney Spears that were just as quickly cancelled.

Writing to fans on his official website, the 'Hero' singer explained:

"Hey guys, sorry for the confusion regarding a possible tour in the summer with Britney Spears. We are on the Euphoria tour and will continue to do so including some soon-to-be-announced dates in US. So hope to see all of you soon."

The joint tour was announced on March 29 and just hours later it was reported that Iglesias had in fact pulled out, a decision he confirmed personally last night (March 30). He will, however, continue on with his international Euphoria tour and you can watch him perform a cover of 'Stand By Me' from a recent date here:
