Global Superstar Enrique Iglesias to Dazzle Georgian Music Fans with First Ever Black Sea Concert in Batumi
"MTV LIVE GEORGIA" TO ROCK BATUMI, 2 AUGUST 2011
TBILISI, Georgia, July 14, 2011 -- Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN), a division of Viacom Inc. (NYSE: VIA and VIA.B), and the Government of Georgiatoday announced that they are to partner to stage the first ever MTV Live music event in Georgia.
Taking place on 2 August 2011, MTV Live Georgia will be an electrifying outdoor concert held in the picturesque Black Sea tourist resort of Batumi. The spectacular concert will be headlined by global superstar Enrique Iglesias, who is guaranteed to thrill thousands of young music fans during his first ever trip to Georgia.
The award-winning singer-songwriter is stopping off in Batumi's historic Europe Square to perform for Georgian music lovers midway through his Euphoria tour, which has already seen him pack venues from North America to Canada, Latin America andEurope. Iglesias, who holds the record as the best-selling Latin artist of all time, having sold more than 61.5 million albums and 40 million singles around the world, will wow the crowd with a sizzling set list combining the most stunning tracks from his 2010 Spanish/English album release Euphoria, including monster hit "I Like It" and Nicole Scherzinger collaboration "Heartbeat" as well as classic tracks from his greatest hits catalogue including crowd pleasers "Hero" and "Be With You".
Popular Georgian artists Sofia Nizharadze and Eldrine will also perform at MTV Live Georgia.
MTV Live Georgia is set to attract thousands of young Georgian music fans and holidaymakers to Batumi's historic Europe Square for an unforgettable night of live music and spectacular staging.
Highlights from MTV Live Georgia will be broadcast as part of MTV World Stage - MTV's global TV series that brings multi-genre artists with global relevance to audiences in over 600 million households in 152 territories. Recorded "live" at the most exclusive gigs, music festivals and unique concert locations from around the world, MTV World Stage offers a "front row seat" for music lovers to experience the hottest artists on the globe without leaving the comfort of their sofas.

MTV Live Georgia is a free concert and no tickets are required. The event will commence at 19:00 local time. Due to the capacity of Europe Square, concert goers will be given access on a first come, first served basis while many more will be able to watch on giant screens erected in Batumi at The Boulevard and also in Theater Square. The organisers expect large crowds in Batumi, so music fans are encourage to arrive in plenty of time and to be patient.
