Example is No. 1

Example's new album 'Playing In The Shadows' has entered The Official UK Top 40 Albums Chart at number one.

As previously reported by Pressparty, Example's album was already heading for the number one slot this Sunday (September 11), as it was number one in the mid-week charts.

Other new entries include Doris Day's 'My Heart' and John Barrowman's 'Tonight's The Night, The Very Best Of'. Maroon 5 entered the albums chart with 'Hands All Over' at number 29. 

Joe McElderry's 'Classic' climbed two to number 3. Fresh from winning last week's Mercury Music Prize, PJ Harvey's 'Let England Shake', re-entered the charts at number 24. The Beatles entered the charts at number 6 with a newly re-mastered digipack edition of '1'.
