Example channelling rock and metal in new album

Example has revealed that he is looking to the likes of rock icons Nirvana and Metallica on his new album.

The star told Capital FM that whilst his new record will still be rooted in electronic sounds, it will feature a guitar edge.

And he revealed that he's mining genres such as metal, grunge and even prog rock for inspiration on the album. Example said:

"This new album is still electronic, you know you can still rave to it but it's very much a guitar album as I said before – people will know what I mean when they hear it."

He continued: "I've kind of tried to cover every genre of rock in terms of metal, grunge, prog rock, stadium rock and blues all on one album. When people hear it – every song's got a slightly different flavour – but I've been referencing like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Coldplay [The] Killers, Metallica. There's a whole load of stuff on there."
