Example cancels gigs after injuring foot

Example has been forced to pull some concerts after injuring his foot.

The 'Say Nothing' star posted a series of messages on Twitter today (September 5) to confirm that he has been left almost immobile as a result of wear and tear.

He posted a photo of his foot strapped up in a large brace and said that the protective gear is due to stay on for a "few weeks". Example said:

"This is me all day every day for the next few weeks #RoboCop."

He continued: "Have had to cancel a few gigs over the next few weeks. I can barely walk. I wish I could do my shows sat on a throne like Jessie J did but hey - Nobody's Perfect. My shows rely on a lot of energy and bouncing around like a lunatic which I can't do at the moment. Doctors have told me to rest."

Example tweeted that the injury was due to too much jumping, saying his ailment is "severe tendonitis of the achilles and calf muscles from too much bouncing and not enough rest".

The British maestro has three dates planned in Spain over the next two weeks and a slot at the iTunes Festival in London on September 17.

He has yet to comment on what dates will be pulled but he has told fans on Twitter that his show in Norwich on September 15 is still going ahead.
