Singer, songwriter, producer and all-round musical talent Rachael Sage has shared a string of live videos that sees sage perform a selection of songs from her critically acclaimed album ‘PseudoMyopia’. Captured at Joe’s Pub in New York City, the video sees Rachael Sage & The Sequins return to their hometown on the US leg of Sage’s tour earlier this Spring to perform encapsulating versions of songs such as ‘Daylight’, ‘Myopia’ and ‘Olivia’ in all their sound beauty.

‘Daylight’ is a particularly poignant track from the album. Singing about mixed messages within a relationship, Rachael has written a track which is instantly relatable and puts into words something I’m sure we all felt like saying at some point in our lives.

‘Myopia’ itself sees Rachael Sage front and centre stage, gigging stateside in Joe’s Pub, New York City. Performing at hometown gig is nerve-wracking for any artist, however, Rachael looks like a natural behind her bright blue keyboard, plastered with a selection of stickers and carefully tilted microphone stand, wrapped with delicate fabrics that drape across the stage setup. Musically, the performance is both vocally mesmerizing and instrumentally enchanting. With Sage’s signature snapping of her fingers and instrumentally the delicate twinkling of Rachael’s keyboard playing is just a drop in the ocean in terms of the many instrumentals Sage plays, accompanied by the heart-warming strokes of the violin in the background this performance of ‘Myopia’ is simply stunning.

‘Olivia’ is the stand out track of Rachael Sage’s album PseudoMyopia. “You are Olivia / You are the sun and moon / You are the only person I can tell my secrets to” sings Sage in a whispered, conspiratorial fashion, inviting the listener to be her one true companion in this heartfelt song about a person closed off from the world.
