When it comes to headliner status this is no strange venture for Jonatha Brooke. Having recently taken to London’s The Islington, Brooke put on a performance that spanned the course of her two decade long career.
Her expert musicianship has been a key factor in leading Brooke to having a loyal and ever increasing fanbase, something that was prevalent throughout the duration of Jonatha’s mesmerising set, with fans filling out the small cap venue so it was almost bursting at the seams.
The distinctive two seperate sets both provided an eclectic mix of Brooke’s old and new material. Starting off with classic songs, from opener ‘Back In The Circus’ to ‘Ten Cent Wings’ these tracks took fans back to the beginnings of the multi talented singer. The standout moment amongst these absolute staples was Jonatha’s stunning vocals, which caught the crowd's attention.
Split between the duo of setlists, Brooke’s latest EP ‘Imposter’ showcased songs such as ‘Fire’ and most memorably the title track ‘Imposter’ itself. With stringed instruments and dynamic rhythms paving the way, Brooke’s sultry and smooth vocals soon joined, adding to the growing intensity of these new additions.
