We are lucky to be privy to the most personal of processes, as Rachael explores deeply personal themes including bravery, gratitude, compassion, authenticity and optimism. Album opener ‘Blue Sky Days’ sets the tone for the rest of the album as a wide-eyed appraisal of the world anew. Of this twelve-song collection, Sage says that “I hope these songs honor just how resilient the human spirit can be, and remind us that sometimes ‘it’s ok to not be ok’.”

Rachael Sage’s newfound reverence for music as a tool for healing is all too clear on tracks such as ‘Bravery’s On Fire’, written during Sage’s recovery, or the title track ‘Character’ . She constantly tests herself and her resilience through her creative lyricism, putting herself and her bravery on trial in the wake of some of the most challenging storms that a person could ever be asked to weather.
