Encompassing the sweaty momentum of the dancefloors which we all miss so much, VISSIA’s latest single is an ode to the simplicity of being in the moment with someone you love and appreciate - mind, body and soul. Tapping into the neo-disco beats of the 80s revival, VISSIA’s ‘On My Mind’ is reminiscent of the 2020 favourite JESSIE WARE’s What’s Your Pleasure? The subtlety of the synths used as soundscapes with a backing beat creates a nostalgic and heady atmosphere, reflecting the nature of the relationship which VISSIA sings about.

2020 was the year VISSIA really began to make marks on the industry, with previous singles ‘About Moving On’ and ‘Walk Me Home’ proving her skill as a lyricist and storyteller. It’s undeniable that VISSIA has a true way with words, and this release is no different.

“I can feel your breath like an ocean wave/Washing over me when you say my name” With lines like this, VISSIA proves that she can capture the wordless moments of a dancefloor romance. She puts human instinct and desire into poetic language which simultaneously speaks to every single one of her listeners, yet remains heartbreakingly personal and unique at the same time.

Of the track, VISSIA says that it’s “about being in the moment with somebody special and appreciating all of them – mind, body and soul – right here, right now, just as they are. There is no past. There is no future. There is only the eye-locking, breathtaking, sexy, sweaty, fun, beautiful, uncomplicated now.”

Finding the beautiful, uncomplicated now is a talent which VISSIA possesses in spades, translating tiny and poignant moments from the human experience into relatable and catchy songs. Whilst ‘Walk Me Home’ and ‘About Moving On’ dealt with vulnerability and heartbreak, ‘On My Mind’ is about blissful joy and the feeling of dancing freely without a care in the world.
