Australian singer-songwriter Ziggy Alberts announces new EP 'A Postcard from London', recorded at the iconic Abbey Road Studios. This 6-track EP is home to live studio versions of some of Alberts' most popular tracks, including Runaway, Rewind and The Sun & The Sea. Also featured on the EP are two spoken poems from his debut poetry book 'brainwaves', which honour and come from his time spent in London.

Known for his soulful and introspective lyrics and prose, Ziggy Alberts has been captivating audiences worldwide with his unique blend of folk, future-folk, and surf-inspired sounds. With 'A Postcard from London', he offers a fresh take on some of his most beloved tracks, showcasing his raw talent and honest writing of love, longing and self-discovery in a stripped-down, intimate setting.

In the collection of 6 tracks, Alberts offers listers a brief moment of pause and reflection with two spoken word poems 'Camden' and 'Tree Watching', from his debut poetry book 'brainwaves'. They are short yet emphatic, leaving you in thought.

'Runaway’ takes charge as the EP's focus track and is the first alternative version of one of Alberts' undoubtedly most popular songs. In his true fashion, this version of 'Runaway' showcases his ability to weave together honest storytelling and heartfelt melody in a way that feels both personal and mutually shared.

In the EP's entirety, with his trademark acoustic guitar, rich vocals and soothing prose voice, he transports listeners to the secluded recording room in London, painting a vivid picture of hope, longing and nostalgia.

'A Postcard from London' is a beautiful blend of poetry and lyrical melodies that celebrate Alberts' love and memories made in London Town.

The EP is available now on all streaming platforms. A limited vinyl run will also be available for purchase in Rough Trade (UK) stores and on ziggyalberts.com

‘A Postcard from London’ coincides with Alberts much anticipated touring return to the UK and Ireland in May and June 2023. In a 12-date run of shows as part of his REWIND WORLD TOUR, Alberts be will playing esteemed and town favourite venues, including London's Eventim Apollo (previously Hammersmith), Academy Manchester and 3Olympia Dublin.

Founder of his own independent label, earning numerous ARIA Platinum certifications and an APRA 2022 award winner, Alberts has managed to craft what many musicians and authors dream of - the ability to tell a story on their own terms. With over 1.6 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone, global show sizes on the continuous rise and praise from the likes of Billboard Magazine, American Songwriter, EarMilk and Clash UK, there is no doubt this will be Ziggy Alberts’ year.

“Ziggy Alberts has always imbued his art with a special aura – this ineffable warm glow resonating throughout his songs – yet never before has he shined as bright or sounded as bold as he does on his fifth studio album. The coastal folk singer/songwriter turns his visceral inward focus out on society and the world at large in searching for freedom, a record whose powerful messages of sustainability, peace, justice, and understanding are sure to resonate with all who listen.”– Atwood, UK

“Alberts has proven time and again that his back-to-basics approach to production and songwriting has left him one of the most reliably authentic artists on the scene.” – Pop Wrapped, US

“For fans who’ve been following Ziggy's career from day dot, his increasing popularity wouldn't come as a shock. To everyone else, the Ziggy story is probably still something of a surprise. He's a self-made success, and it's a grassroots swell plenty of people are getting behind” – Triple J

“Folk-hewn but modern-facing, his work sits alongside those early Ben Howard cuts or even Jack Johnson, that kind of slick but still endearingly earnest musicality.”- Clash, UK
