Florence's second LP 'ruined by humming'

Florence Welch has revealed that a noisy fridge is disrupting the recording of her second album.

The Florence and the Machine singer said that the demos she is recording while on her tour bus, are being ruined by the humming sound of her fridge.

The 24-year-old told Absolute Radio: "We've been writing this second album on tour. But it's funny - we don't have a studio and we have less equipment than we had before and the sound of the refrigerator is constant in almost all of our recordings, so we're kind of going backwards! The last album was recorded in a synagogue, this one's being recorded in various places with lots of humming and clacking sounds in the background."

Welch also admitted that recording on tour has landed her in trouble. "We got in trouble actually, because we tried to record a song in a hotel room and I stupidly decided to use a partition wall as a bass drum which wasn't very helpful for the people in the room next door!" she said.

Florence and the Machine are set to headline the Latitude festival in Suffolk this weekend.
