Forthright Records Announces 2nd Feature Film 'Paperweight' For 2025; UFC Fighters Join the CastThe makers of "How To Break A World Record" are back to release their newest documentary exploring the world of professional combat sports.OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASENEWS PROVIDED BY Forthright Records Forthright Records is officially set to release its second feature film in 2025. The new movie entitled, "Paperweight," is a reality-journalism documentary that sets out to answer the question: what would happen if you took an average guy off the street and put him in the ring with one of the best fighters on the planet? Loosely reminiscent of the 1960’s film, "Paper Lion" (where journalist George Plimpton was thrown into an NFL football game with no experience), recording artist Andrew P. Oliver takes it upon himself to jump blindly into the world of professional MMA under the guidance of UFC featherweight, Westin Wilson. The goal was to document the completion of a fight camp in preparation for a comically lopsided, surprise showdown between an icon of the octagon—Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson—and a musician whose combat experience amounts to a single backyard fistfight. "We wanted to showcase contrast, and highlight the extreme differences between what we often perceive as viewers and what is reality when it comes to entertainment, specifically in this case, combat sports." - Andrew P. Oliver The documentary will attempt to once again package the magnetic spirit of a close-knit group of friends known for pushing the envelope of ordinary experiences. It conjoins the combat sports world with the broad audiences of music entertainment, while weaving in the mutually relatable narrative of having the confidence to face oversized challenges. "We want viewers of our story to feel like they're in the room with Andrew, Westin, and Wonderboy. All we set out to do was first, have a wild experience, and then second, try to retell the story to the film's audience so they could take the same ride we did." - Dan Johnson (director, editor) "Paperweight" is the second feature film from the director duo Andrew P. Oliver & Dan Johnson following the release of their acclaimed 2024 documentary "How To Break A World Record" that followed Stephen Oliver's successful attempt to break a mandolin Guinness World Record (by playing for over 27 hours straight). The same core cast comes together in "Paperweight" with the additions of Westin Wilson, Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson, comedian Joey Thompson, and more. Large portions of the film were shot in Simpsonville, South Carolina at Ray Thompson’s Upstate Karate and features cameos from many of the Pitch Black Fight Sports team. The film will be distributed by Buffalo 8 ("Woman of the Hour"; "Conversations With A Serial Killer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes") and is expected for a mid-summer release in 2025. About
