Gary Barlow's biggest musical barrier is "keeping things fresh"

Singer-songwriter Gary Barlow will be speaking at today's (February 3) BBC Introducing's Musicians Masterclass at Abbey Road Studios.

The Take That star has pre-recorded an interview that will air to aspiring talented musicians later this morning and he has revealed some great advice:

"To me the biggest barrier or the biggest hurdle we've all got to get over as writers is keeping things fresh,"

"I leave, at my mum's house, a midi-keyboard and a set of speakers. I arrive there and set it up in front of a window overlooking a field and I'm in a different situation."

Most of Barlow's words of wisdom will focus on the art of songwriting and he claims a change of scenery is often useful:

"Go on holiday somewhere and take your stuff with you,"

"One of my best tricks is that every now and again I go and see my mum for a few days,"
