Gary Barlow: “I always wanted to be in Wham!”

‘X Factor’ judge and Take That singer Gary Barlow has revealed that he wishes he’d been a member of ‘80s pop duo Wham!

The ‘X Factor’ contestants are moving into ‘80s week and Barlow was discussing the live shows when asked which song he would perform had he been a contestant this week.

"I'd definitely do 'Freedom' by Wham!” said Barlow. "I always wanted to be in Wham! In fact I still do. They'd be great as a three piece. You're really only getting started with a two piece - they should definitely be a three."

But the star wasn’t so confident in predicting which of the show’s contestants would stand out, saying: "I'm not sure anyone is really suited to the '80s. Not even the overs as they're all younger than me!”

On what else to expect, he added: "Really great songs and all very upbeat. The '80s was a positive decade musically. I think there'll be a lot of make up. There was a lot of make up in the '80s. New romance and all that."
