George Michael shoots into iTunes chart after death

Sales of George Michael's back catalogue are on the up following the singer's death on Christmas Day from heart failure.

The music world was sent into shock when the icon passed away at the age of only 53, with the likes of Sir Elton John and Madonna paying tribute to the former Wham! star.

At the time of writing, Michael's greatest hits collection 'Ladies & Gentlemen' is No.1 on the UK iTunes chart. Wham!'s 'The Final' is No.5 and his solo effort 'Twenty Five' is No.6.

On the iTunes tracks chart, 'Careless Whisper' is No.14 and 'Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me' is No.18. 'Faith' follows at No.20, while 'Freedom! '90' and 'A Different Corner' are also in the top 40.
