George Michael's iconic clothing up for grabs in auction

George Michael fans will have the opportunity to own some of the late star's most iconic clothes if they bid successfully at the Enterainment Memorabilia auction run by renowned auction house, Bonhams on June 28 in London.

The 'Careless Whisper' star's famous ray-bans and leather jacket from his 'I Want Your Sex' video are amongst the auction lots.

Other clothing such as his full-length leather jacket worn at the 1994 MTV Awards at Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, Germany are also available to the wining bidder.

Personal memorabilia including 5 pages of handwritten notes on a yellow lined notepad regarding his legal battle with Sony are also up for grabs. Extracts from the notes see George state that record labels do not understand their artists:

“[They] have little understanding of the creative process. With C.B.S... I felt that I was believed in... as... a long-term artist... wheareas Sony.... appear to see artists as little more than software. They do not understand that musicians do not come in regimented shapes and sizes but are individuals who change and evolve along with the audiences.

"Sony... obviously view this as a great inconvenience... they have developed... hard sell, high profile sales techniques... which, in the short-term at least, are very lucrative for them, and the simple truth is that if George Micahel, or any other arts for that matter doesn't wish to .... conform to... Sony's current ideas, they are... plenty of hungry... young acts who will."

The Entertainment Memorabilia auction also includes items from George Harrison, Davie Bowie, Marilyn Monroe, Brian Jones of The Rolling Stones, Charlie Chaplin, Leonardo DiCaprio, James Bond films, Doctor Who, Marc Bolan, Jeff Beck, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Kate Moss, James Dean, Coldplay, Elvis Presley, The Who, The Clash, Black Sabbath, Grateful Dead, Sex Pistols, Oasis, Nirvana, The Smiths, Prince, Jessie J, Robbie Williams, Britney Spears, Brian Eno, Pink Floyd, Gary Moore and The Beatles,

The items can be viewed at Bonhams' Knightsbridge showroom from Sunday June 25 onwards.
