The first six episodes of ‘The Jewish Enquirer’ – a new sitcom following the outrageous adventures of a reporter for the “4th biggest Jewish publication in the UK” – have been released today on Amazon Prime in the USA.

Starring Tim Downie (Outlander, Paddington, Toast of London, Upstart Crow) as reporter Paul Green ‘The Jewish Enquirer’ is written and directed by Gary Sinyor (Leon the Pig Farmer, The Bachelor with Chris O’Donnell and Renee Zellweger).

UK's Daily Mail said "This six-episode sitcom is bursting at the seams with eye-wateringly un-PC gags about, among other things, sex, dwarfs, vegans, anti-Semitism and Islamophobia".

BBC Front Row called it :Seinfeld in North London". Interview link with Gary Sinyor attached.

Paul's journalistic ambitions contend with the baby-sitting demands of his sweary sister, Naomi (Lucy Montgomery - Tracey Ullman Show, Absolutely Fabulous) and the search for love pursued by his neurotic best friend Simon (stand-up comedian Josh Howie). Comic icon Geoff McGivern (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Blackadder) completes the regular cast as Paul’s father Ronnie. Guest stars include Chizzy Akudolu (Holby City, Strictly Come Dancing), Sophie Colquhoun (EastEnders, Captain America) and comedy legend Freddie “Parrot-Face” Davies.

Writer/Director Gary Sinyor says:
“I wanted to create a mainstream comedy about a truth-seeking journalist with big ambitions who is limited to hunting down rubbish stories for a small-time paper. In his head, he is on a mission to challenge the perceived injustices of modern day society. His Editor, however, wants stories about the shopping habits of the Chief Rabbi. Paul is clumsy, stubborn and befuddled by just about everything. As am I. It's a bit like Curb but without the celebrities, the money, the fame and baldness"

Tim Downie, Lead Actor and Executive Producer, says:
“Going from playing the arrogant Governor Tyron in Outlander to broad comedy is part of the joy of being an actor. It’s funny and irreverent with a great deal of heart and charm.”
