Glee's Original Tracks Dominate iTunes Chart at #1 and #2


Glee: The Music, Volume 5 is the #3 Best Selling Album this Week

NEW YORK, March 16, 2011  -- Glee scores the top positions on iTunes Top Songs chart with their first ever new and original songs "Loser Like Me" landing at #1 and "Get It Right" at #2. Glee has six of the top 10 tracks on the iTunes Top Songs chart with the cast's versions of P!nk's "Raise Your Glass" at #3, The Beatles' "Blackbird" at #5, and Maroon 5's "Misery" at #6.  Another original Glee track, "Hell To The No" is currently in the #8 slot on this same chart.  Last month Glee celebrated it's biggest sales week with seven tracks occupying iTunes Top Songs chart with 880,000 tracks downloaded.

Glee: The Music, Volume 5 debuts this week at #3 on Billboard's Top 200 Album chart with almost 90,000 sold, besting new releases from such veterans as R.E.M. and Avril Lavigne.  In addition to the two new and original songs "Loser Like Me" and "Get It Right," Glee: The Music, Volume 5 features the Glee casts take on such classics as Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now,"Katy Perry's "Firework" and Justin Bieber's "Baby."  Gwyneth Paltrow's triumphant return to Glee and is featured on such classics as Prince's "Kiss," Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide" and Joan Jett's "Do You Wanna Touch Me (Oh Yeah)."  Paltrow's earlier Glee contribution, an exciting cover of Cee Lo's "Forget You," was a bit hit among fans and has just been certified Gold for sales in excess of 500,000 downloads.  Also featured on Glee: The Music, Volume 5 is the cast's much talked about mashup of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' "Heads Will Roll" which was seen by Glee's biggest audience to date of 26.8 million viewers.
