Glee lands 12 Emmy nominations

Glee has earned itself an incredible 12 nominations in this year's Emmy awards, it was confirmed this afternoon (July 14).

The popular U.S musical series has been recognised in categories such as Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Chris Colfer (Kurt Hummel), Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Jane Lynch (Sue Sylvester) and Best Comedy Series.

It was also announced this morning that some of the show's most treasured cast members (Lea Michele, Chris Colfer and Cory Monteith) will not return for the show's fourth season so these final nominations will see them go out with a bang.

In addition to Glee's success, vocal talent competition American Idol was also honoured with an impressive 10 nods and the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony, hosted by Glee’s Jane Lynch, will air on Fox on Sunday, September 18, at 8pm EST.
