HAPPYNOVISAD STAGE CELEBRATES 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Elektrana stage makes a comeback appearance as a special guest on the first day of HNS Stage

EXIT ADVENTURE celebrates a decade of one of the most favourite stages at EXIT! Happynovisad stage has built its reputation over the years as the eminent spot at EXIT which nurtures the cutting edge trends in electronic music. Quite often, performers who had acts on this venerable stage one year, suddenly become the hottest sought-out thing as soon as next year. Along with the freshest live and DJ sets, a pivotal part of the programme includes some well-established names as well as peak performers in underground music and culture.

For our 10 year anniversary, we’ve gone through the thick and thin to make up a finely cut programme rich with international acts and UK acts, as well as acts with the currently most progressive production, which encompasses bass, techno, rave, and house music, along with now traditional showcases from different publishers.

The first night of Happynovisad is reserved for L.I.E.S. (Long Island Electrical Systems) - a lable based in Brooklyn; and Elektrana – the organisation that’s been promoting local and regional electro music scenes for the past ten years. L.I.E.S. is probably the most progressive publisher, currently helmed by Ron Morelli, who’s a superb selector – you never know what’s going to play next. Headlining the evening is the unique Legowelt, a hardware geek and top producer. Greg Beato is a Miami teen with a bright future ahead of him, and he’s joining Morelli and Legowelt on Happynovisad.

Elektrana – electronic art and culture development centre” will present its selection of local music artists they deemed as having reached certain accomplishments in the past year. We’ll have to opportunity, thus, to listen to premiere live sets of great bands YusYus and Konvoj Bonton Bajkera. They’re followed by Lost in the Sound, Caligari, WB41 and Neomodern, with Iggy Dope as the closing act.

Friday, 11th July, is deeply inspired by the label Houndstooth, a house under the wing of the cult club Fabric in London. The evening sounds for Friday could be described as experimental bass and rave of both new and old productions. Houndstooth will present Special Request, Paul Woolford’s alias, for whom is told “the rough and relentless young brother” of the techno giant; and Accord, the special project of the incredibly talented Manchester duo Syncro and Indigo. During a special “sunrise” part, Could 9 aka Nookie, will be take the stage – he’s the author of hits like You Got Me Burnin’, Gonna Be Alright and Give A Little Love, and he’ll be playing an exclusive ’92 –’95 set with underground hits from that period. There’s also the Swiss ensemble We Love Machines, while the local support is the charismatic DJ and MC Rasheed, the experienced DJ Filip, and DJ RaDa the mysterious veteran with a special atmospheric set.

DSNT is a multidisciplinary creative company based in Belfast which specialises in artist management, events, music publishing, design, galleries, and visual art. On Saturday, 12th July, playing for DSNT are Trus, the London techno producer with published tracks through labels like Our Circular Sound, Avian, and R&S. Then, Blacknecks will climb the stage; they’re the special and up until recently anonymous live project from Trus and Bleaching Agent. Bleaching Agent is a producer with great support from Dave Clark, Nina Kravitz, and Mosce. There’s also AnD, the advanced duo inspired by Dave Clark; Myler, an artist with published work at Naked Lunch, Shout Records, VooDoo and Bass Assault Records; and Fran Hartnet, one of the most experienced DJs from Ireland, always ready to offer the most mint and futuristic sound which represents the very essence of techno. The same night welcomes Hetem, a new name in the electro scene with an interesting live act; and Pharmacist, Thinker’s ambient alias, who’s a member of the Mystic Stylez crew; and Lag the local, forward-thinking, young techno producer and DJ

The last night of the festival is when LB10 (LittleBig Agency) steps into the spotlight. The agency was founded in 2004 in Bristol and Berlinu, and it’s celebrating its 10 year anniversary this year. The stage’s headliners are DMX Krew, the legendary London artist with a 20-year-old career who founded the cult publisher Breakin’ Records – One of the first electro and bass labels in Great Britain. Then there’s the TR\\ER, the project of the coupled minds Tom and Edward Russell, ie. Tessele and Trussa. This is going to be their third time at the Happynovisad Stage. These brothers are bringing a huge amount of analogue equipment for their combo live set. Black Amiga is set for the same night – the anonymous performer who allows his music to speak for him. The local acts include Jackie Dagger, another member of the Mystic Stylez crew of the hyper popular Teklife collective; Yeah Left, the Novi Sad beat-maker and producer who’ll be playing his live set for the first time; and the much-liked SMT#nG; and the programme selector X-coast with special guests, who will close this year’s Happynovisad stage programme.
