Esports Player releases 'Self-Care'OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASENEWS PROVIDED BY Goryl Records The majority of the track was self-recorded at home in lockdown 1.0 isolation, before being remotely produced by merseyside-duo, Sugar House. Sugar House added greater dynamism to the track with the addition of soaring, jangly guitars and thumping percussion. 'Self-Care' is about social isolation, anxiety and the breakdown of relationships. It mourns a period of personal highs, "2018's summer solstice," and the loss of close friends. Esports Player is a pseudonym of Nottingham singer-songwriter, Jack Kwiecinski. This solo project was born out of 2020 lockdown isolation. The pandemic caused the disbandment of a previous collaborative project (Nactus Kunan) and encouraged me (Jack) to learn keyboard. This track is the first fruits of a lockdown full of musical creation. The Esports Player sound fuses eighties sophisti-pop with hip-hop and electronic music. Influences include: Orange Juice, The Blue Nile, Sade, Tame Impala, and Dr Dre.
