If you’re a fan of female fronted indie-pop-rock, then you would definitely be familiar with Gold Coast based band, The Goldhearts. If you’re not, the names of Brisbane bands Dream Poppies and Razel should be ringing some nostalgic bells. After a COVID-enforced break, The Goldhearts are back with their eagerly-awaited new single, 'Verona With a V'.

The musical heritage of The Goldhearts members dates back to Big Day Out 1994, SXSW 1997 and even the iconic music club, CBGBs in New York. With a support and touring history that includes the likes of Throwing Muses, Urge Overkill, Grinspoon and Frenzal Rhomb, members of The Goldhearts formed in 2015 with a timestamped sound that will take you back to the Bikini Kill days and have you building playlists that will include The Donnas, PJ Harvey and The Breeders.

In their latest single 'Verona with a V', the band personify the COVID19 pandemic, telling the tale of cruel and relentless bullying of teenager, Corona by the mean girl Verona and her impressionable friends Sharona and Ramona. Being bullied by Verona and her friends impels Corona to escape the cruel confines of the school laboratory and break out into the community, where as they say, the rest is history.
