Bern in July 2021 – Klang Wang Records is thrilled to announce the release of the debut EP from Weak Tyrant. 'To Be Pure' is available everywhere digital on October 22, 2021.

'To Be Pure' is the first record of the fresh formed band Weak Tyrant from Bern, Switzerland. The 4 songs are stylistically located somewhere between emo-pop-punk, indie rock and post-hardcore. At the same time, the record can also be described as a stylistic experiment: All musicians are/were active in other swiss metal / hardcore / stoner projects (including Posthumanbigbang, Chelsea Deadbeat Combo, Horace, Hot Running Blood) and now find themselves in a new musical genre. The vocals are mainly clean and the riffs are kept more melodic. Nevertheless, emotions break through and intensity comes first – it’s simply in a different musical language.

The first single 'Slide' was released on August 27, 2021. The song is about the search for meaning, our origins and our destinies. Topics that occupy us all every day. But it goes one step further and describes the feeling of losing sight of the essential in this process. Suddenly thoughts become a load and you carry a burden with you.
