He wrote Silver Lining about his mom and her terminal cancer diagnosis. The song is upbeat and energetic because that's how she was, all the way up until her last days. Silver Lining is referring to her searching for meaning and something to hold on to in her life despite being dealt a terrible hand.

Some would say it was meant to be. Patrick Davis and Drew Sikes met on a music app in 2018 and quickly realized they lived in the exact same building in Birmingham, AL. Drew's apartment flooded and he decided to look for a house to rent. His eventual roommate Drummer JT Ward. Mason Richardson joined shortly thereafter to round out an indie rock sound that has been described as both nostalgic and new.
