UK-based Rapper A.D. links up with the LA-based Singer IAMKIING (also known as Kiing) to deliver a heavy-hitting song that explores the duality of sex and love, both in theme and sound.

'Sex/Love' is broken into two parts; A.D.’s raw, unfiltered and aggressive approach to the topic of sex signifies the recklessness of pursuing relationships built without a lack of true intimacy. Punchy 808s sitting underneath the smooth guitar melodies rest perfectly behind the rap vocals A.D. delivers to tell a story of two lovers enjoying the joys of lust whilst briefly touching on the motivation behind chasing love with sex. Then, reminiscent of the mood switch in Justin Timberlake’s LoveStoned/I Think She Knows the beat takes on a far more sombre, deep tone as Kiing takes over to warn of the dangers involved with confusing lust for love. The tempo slows down to emphasise the message and the layered harmonies add a fullness that envelops the listener in Kiing’s excellent vocal performance. A fusion of Hip Hop, Lo-Fi and R’n’B, Sex/Love dives into an important message not often found in either genres - love and sex are not one and the same.

A.D. is a UK-based independent rapper hailing from Hemel Hempstead, England. His sound revolves largely around an American-Hip Hop style with influences from the likes of Joyner Lucas, Cordae and Eminem in terms of hot lyrical ability, Twista, Tech N9ne and Busta Rhymes for complex flows and Da Baby, Will Smith and DMX with his powerful and iconic delivery (to name just a few of many). A.D. started rapping when he was 10 years old and has since gone on to feature on BBC Introducing numerous times as well as win the Big Break in 2014. Versatility is the name of the game with A.D., demonstrating that there’s no section within or surrounding Hip Hop he can’t dominate.
