Gwen Stefani: 'My solo career got a little out of control'

Songstress Gwen Stefani has admitted that although she enjoyed her solo career, she feels as though it got taken too seriously.

The No Doubt rocker explained to New York Magazine that the tracks she created outside of her band for her 2 solo albums were only meant to be for fun, but ended up taking up a lot of her time:

"That whole period when I got to do [solo] records, to me it was indulging my theatrical side, songs that were never really meant to be taken seriously, just for fun."

"It was just a project I did that was very inspired, and it kind of got a little out of control, really. But there's no place like home, we're so comfortable together, we understand each other. It feels, like, normal. Whereas that [solo] period felt like I was trying to be something, and play a role, and pretend."

Now that No Doubt have reunited, they will release their brand new album named 'Push and Shove' next month on September 24 in the UK.
