Iggy Pop would rather suffer "a shark attack" than live in a nursing home

Iggy Pop has stated that he would prefer to be attacked by a shark over growing old in a nursing home.

66-year-old Iggy Pop made his fears about old-age known during an interview with Playboy.

The ‘Lust For Life’ punk icon said: “I have a beach house in the Cayman Islands, where there are sharks. When I go swimming I think, ‘Boy, a shark attack would solve a lot of problems’”.

He continued: “I seriously do not want to go into assisted living or a nursing home, so I’m hoping for a shark attack. That would be good.”

Iggy Pop recently released a statement regarding the recent death of The Stooges’ drummer Scott Asheton.

The Stooges singer paid tribute to his late band mate by saying: “Scott was a great artist, I have never heard anyone play the drums with more meaning than Scott Asheton. He was like my brother. He and Ron have left a huge legacy to the world. The Ashetons have always been and continue to be a second family to me.”
