Creative American artist Janelle Monae has announced a UK tour for 2011, which will be her biggest string of British shows to date.

The singer, who is currently ‘digitally dead’ on Twitter as part of the fight against HIV/AIDS, played a gig last night (December 5) at Shepherd’s Bush Empire and will be back to rock the UK in February next year.

Tickets for the tour go on sale tomorrow, December 7, and the quirky ‘Tightrope’ star will appear at the following venues:

• February 24 - O2 Academy in Bristol
• February 25 - HMV Institute in Birmingham
• February 26 - O2 Academy in Glasgow, Scotland
• February 28 - Manchester Academy
• March 1 - Roundhouse in London
