Janet Jackson's 'Unbreakable' reaches No.1 on US albums chart

Janet Jackson has bagged her seventh US No.1 album and is currently on her seventh world tour, after four years, which kicked off earlier this year on August 31.

The singer released 'Unbreakable' earlier this month (October 2) - her first record since 2008's 'Discipline'.

Billboard have confirmed that the album sold 116,000 equivalent album units in its first week. 109,000 of the units were from pure album sales.

Only two female singers have more No.1 albums in the US than Jackson - Barbra Streisand (10) and Madonna (8).

The singer's first chart-topping record in the US was 1986's 'Control'.
