Jason Derulo on 'hangman's break' injury: 'It's another chance'

'Ridin' Solo' star Jason Derulo has admitted that the severe neck injury he suffered a few months ago has given him "a different perspective" on life.

The hitmaker fractured his neck earlier this year after "doing tumbling & acrobatics 4 tour" and has been wearing a brace ever since, but tweeted a message to his fans this morning (March 4) that explained he may be able to take it off by April or May:

"Doc says my neck is healing properly.. Hopefully I can take my beck brace off in a month and a half or so.. it's already been 2 months"

He also spoke to the NME about his recovery and added that he feels like he's been given a second chance at life:

"It's called a hangman's break. I'm lucky to be here.I view life from a different perspective now. It's another chance. It's another chance to appreciate life."

''It's been go-go-go for the last few years and it's been an amazing journey and it's been a dream come true but I'm glad the world's slowed down for a second so that I can have a chance to take it in and spend time with my family.''
