Hitmaker Jason Derulo has revealed that his girlfriend Jordin Sparks was a huge factor in recovering fully from his neck fracture.

The superstar suffered the injury last year while rehearsing for a world tour, which he was subsequently forced to cancel, and he told E! News that she was "instrumental" in helping him get back to his former state:

"It really gave me a chance to get to know myself and really get close to my family and it got me closer to Jordin, which is also really amazing. It really did bring a lot of positive to my life. It gave me a chance to look at my life and decipher what was positive and what was kind of taking up space [and] Jordin was very instrumental in my recovery."

Derulo went on to praise the 'One Step At A Time' beauty for being so patient and encouraging with him while he worked through the injury, adding:

"That situation brought [Jordin and I] very close because I think it takes a very special person to drop everything they've got going on in their life, especially someone of her calibre, to come and aid me. That was really special."
